LISTS 25 · 10 · 2021Cantv increased its ABA Internet service rates for the sixth time so far this year. The new prices of the state telecommunications operator range between 12.63 and 62.96 bolivars (from 3 to 14.95 dollars, at the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela), depending on the type of connection. The adjustment occurs amid attempts by the state company to increase Internet speed, despite the fact that many users continually denounce the inefficiency of the service. The ABA price list, according to the Patria Digital channel, is:– ABA Mega Productive Plan 4 Megas: Bs 12.63, equivalent to 3 dollars, at the rate of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).– ABA 6 Mega Plan: Bs 17.84 (USD 4.24).– ABA 8 Mega Plan: Bs 23.64 (USD 5.61).– ABA 10 Mega Plan: Bs 27.93 (USD 6.63).– ABA 14 Mega Plan: Bs 40.44 (USD 9.60).– ABA 18 Mega Plan: Bs 50.70 (USD 12.04).– ABA 22 Mega Plan: Bs 62.96 (USD 14.95).A Venezuelan needs more than a minimum salary, established at Bs. 10, to pay for the most basic plan.On the other hand, to pay for the ABA Plan of 22 megabytes, more than six minimum wages are required. There have also been unofficial increases in call services.Likewise, the company has reported on its social networks about a breakdown repair program throughout the country. In September, the president of the state company, Jesús Aldana, explained that Cantv is not the institution that regulates the rates, but rather that it corresponds to the National Telecommunications Commission (Conatel), since every two months they carry out a review to make the pertinent adjustments in bolivars.Likewise, he stressed that people who do not pay bills on time will be affected by the suspension of the service.Aldana stated that Cantv has a margin of up to three months to pay overdue bills. On the other hand, he affirmed that citizens can report the fault that it presents and thus, according to the information, the collection of the invoice will be immediately suspended, either by Internet or telephone, until the problem is solved.According to the Cantv union, telephone and Internet breakdowns "exceed a million and a half throughout the country", and this, they maintain, is a consequence of the lack of investment in the company since it was expropriated in 2007 by the government. of Hugo Chavez (1999-2013).The recent increase in rates has already sparked criticism from users on social networks, who see prices rise while not noticing improvements in service.“I think the increase in ABA rates is an abuse. You should feel sorry for the users, they never respond to the emails or messages that one sends when there is a fault.Out of necessity, you have to pay an individual to solve the problem,” wrote a user identified as Yaquides Quilimaco.@salaprensaCantv once again raise the price in #ABA rates please!!And what of those people who have several reports of failure of their telephone line and still do not solve the problem? Will they freeze the amount to be canceled from the moment the failure began?
