The Professional Football League (LFP) "welcomes" that justice has obtained the blocking of "pirate IPTV services" which broadcast images of its championships without authorization, it announced on Wednesday March 23 in a press release. The LFP "welcomes the decision rendered on March 17 by the President of the Paris Court of Justice ordering, for the first time in France, the blocking by French ISPs (internet service providers) of access to pirate IPTV (internet television) services. This action was permitted by the so-called anti-piracy or anti-streaming law adopted in 2021 and effective since January 2022. The League sees it as "an essential step in the fight against piracy" thanks to this law which offers "effective protection professional football competitions against the serious and repeated attacks to which they are subject".This law also allows the courts to order "the blocking of streaming sites broadcasting the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 championships without authorization", specifies the LFP.The Audiovisual and Digital Communication Regulatory Authority (Arcom) may also "request as soon as possible the blocking of mirror sites and sites not yet identified" which broadcast images of L1 and L2, normally reserved for subscribers of approved broadcasters, Prime Video, Canal Plus and Free."A huge step has been taken," said Caroline Guenneteau, deputy general secretary of beIN Media Group, to AFP.This court decision "is a continuation of decisions already made in January" against streaming sites, she says."BeIN Sports obtained at the beginning of January the blocking of streaming sites which broadcast the African Cup or the Champions League" proposed by the channel, "and Canal carried out two actions for the Top 14 and the Champions League and obtained blocking orders", develops the leader. The "difference of this action" of the LFP is that it "targets DNS addresses (domain name system, which encrypts domain names in numbers, editor's note) which offer IPTV, with a plug and play box for a paid subscription", she explains, paying sites and not streaming with advertisements."I always thought that we could fight against IPTV via this article of the Sports Code", remarks Caroline Guenneteau, former legal director of the beIN group, one of the creators of the APPS (Association for the protection of sports programs ).By blocking not only streaming sites but also IPTV, "we considerably extend the field of protection", she notes. This article L. 333-10 of the Sports Code "still gives us a fairly wide arsenal, it says that we must protect the live event and find the measures, it is essential", she adds. The holders of television rights especially want to "discourage the basic Internet user, perhaps not the assiduous pirate, the geek who will always find a way around", warns Guenneteau."We will be able to adapt to the new tactics of pirates, she promises, like a spider, we weave our web to imprison the parasites."I already have an accountI do not have an accountWant to follow this thread?Would you like to receive a notification when a user replies to your comment?Blocking by DNS?!All you have to do is change your DNS and for that Google is your best friend.A useless law, which wastes time and inevitably money ......... for taxpayers, again.Anything.It will never stop.Hacking has been part of the game since the dawn of time.
